I had a wonderful weekend at the Hub boutique hotel in Port Elizabeth. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice balcony, and the friendly staff truly made my stay enjoyable. However, a previous experience where I had to switch rooms due to cigarette smoke really highlighted some inconsistencies. Overall, it's a great spot near shopping centers, but improvements in room conditions would enhance the experience.

Rooms
8.0
The room was clean and comfortable, featuring a mini fridge and a nice balcony.
Service
9.0
The staff was very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist us during our stay.
Location
9.0
The hotel is conveniently located close to Walmer Park shopping center, which is great for picking up essentials or dining.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast experience was lacking due to limited options and poor quality ingredients. It could definitely use some improvement.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel's facilities were adequate, but there were signs of wear that detracted from the overall experience.

6.8/10

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The staff, particularly the management, were accommodating and made my stay feel more personal, especially during a tough time. The room I stayed in could use a good deep clean, and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired with noticeable mold. On the plus side, the location was convenient for accessing shopping centers, but I strongly recommend having a car.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in wasn't very clean and had a noticeable odor. It had a great layout but was right next to reception, which made it less appealing.
Service
8.0
The staff were polite and attentive, especially the management who seemed to genuinely care about guests’ needs.
Location
9.0
The hotel is centrally located and super easy to access malls and other local attractions, which is a huge plus.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast options were very basic and could definitely use improvement, as they were quite limited and didn't always seem fresh.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities like the pool are nice to have, and the Wi-Fi worked well, which added value to my stay.

6.4/10

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While it offers good value for money and a central location near the mall, some aspects left much to be desired, particularly the room comfort and security. The breakfast was decent, but not particularly memorable. Overall, there are both strengths and weaknesses that need addressing.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious but had a lot of issues, like poor internet connection and an uncomfortable sofa. The bathroom felt cramped despite its size, and the patio door being unlocked was concerning.
Service
6.0
The service was average. I had to ask for things like a hairdryer, and it seemed like the staff were stretched thin. Check-in was efficient, but overall, the service could have been more attentive.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is convenient, especially if you want to be near shopping facilities. It was easy enough to drive to nearby restaurants and attractions.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast was simple and well-cooked, but the choices were quite limited and could use some improvement, especially for dietary restrictions.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities felt somewhat basic and dated, and I noticed a lack of standard amenities like air conditioning, which was a downside given the cold temperatures outside.

5.0/10

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The management was really accommodating and caring during a tough time. However, the noise levels were unbearable, and the room felt outdated. Overall, while the staff's kindness stood out, the lack of soundproofing and maintenance impacted my stay significantly.

Rooms
5.0
Unfortunately, the room was dated and not soundproof at all. I could hear conversations from the reception area and there was a persistent cigarette odor.
Service
6.0
The management was genuinely caring and helped me during a stressful situation, which I appreciated a lot. However, some staff seemed a bit uninterested at times.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location was quite convenient for running around town, but it was hard to enjoy it due to the disturbances during my stay.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was pretty average; the menu didn’t change during my stay, so it felt repetitive. At least the muffins were good, which was a tiny highlight!
Facilities
5.0
The facilities could use some upgrading. The overall decor felt dated and in need of maintenance.
